Child, Youth and Family Health Services
Overview
Child, Youth & Family Health Services is a free, community-based service provided to families by qualified health professionals.
This service covers Child and Family health issues, School Based Youth Health Nurse Program, Children’s Community Therapy Service and the Infant Management & Parenting Centre.
Service and information is for families with children aged between birth and 18 years.
Services currently offered include:

Therapy (occupational, physio, speech and paediatrician) for children with disabilities (CCTS)

Well babies with a self weigh and general information area

Information sessions for parents

Intake officer for information and advice via the phone

Hospital liaison officer helps to improve the transition between hospital – home - service

Individual consultations for parents with concerns

Hearing screening clinic for school aged children

Immunisation clinics
-
Positive Parenting Program (PPP) gives families practical advice on positive approaches to parenting, including behavioural difficulties.

Family care program for families who require extra support

IMPS day stay centre / breastfeeding clinic

School based youth health nurses within the state high schools offer health promotion activities and individual consultations with students

Early Intervention Specialists (social worker and psychologist) for families with special needs
Child, Youth and Family Health Services which also comprise Children’s Community Therapy Services (CCTS) and Infant Management and Parenting Services (IMPS) are now amalgamated into the one area, making it more user-friendly.
Referral Procedure
Referral to these services depends on the area you wish to access. By contacting Child and Youth Family Health services you will be directed as to the appropriate requirements.
While we do try to cater for the entire family, there may be a service that you require that we are unable to offer. If this is the case, our staff will be able to assist you in finding the right service.
