Changes in behaviour and personality are common following acquired brain injury, and frequently affect an individual's ability to participate in work, study, community and leisure activities, and to have successful relationships with others. They can also cause distress and concern for family members, carers, support workers and professionals in the community.
This behaviour management resource manual has been developed to assist individuals with brain injury, their family, carers, and community service providers to have an enhanced understanding of the changes in behaviour that can occur following brain injury, in addition to practical strategies and ideas for preventing , managing and coping with challenging behaviour.
