ABIOS research initiatives include:

• Designing and co-ordinating research into community based service delivery for people with ABI
• Fostering the development of responsive services for people with ABI

• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Service Development Project
  Participatory Action Research to develop and evaluate different models of rehabilitation service delivery to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People with ABI
• Knowledge Translation Project 
  A collaborative study between services aimed at developing and evaluating a consultancy model of clinical knowledge translation between specialist and generalist health practitioners
• Long Term Community Care Needs Project
  A study examining the predictors of long-term care needs in the community for people with ABI
• Mayo-Portland Project
  A research evaluation of the Mayo-Portland Inventory (MPAI-4) and associated resource availability and utilisation measures in ABI community rehabilitation
• Metacognitive Skills Intervention Project
  A study to evaluate the effectiveness of a metacognitive skills intervention in improving the community outcomes of people with ABI
• Parenting Project
  A study involving the development and evaluation of a programme of parenting support for parents with ABI
• Transition from Hospital to Home Project
  Exploration of the experience of and services provided during transition from hospital to home for people with acquired brain injury and their families
• Transition from Slow Stream Rehabilitation Project
  Case Study research exploring transition from slow stream rehabilitation to community living for people with an acquired brain injury
