| Queensland Health employs physiotherapists in a variety of settings across the continuum of care from acute hospitals to clinic settings in the community.
Queensland Health physiotherapists are involved in treatment, education and prevention programs and work in multi-disciplinary teams together with their patients to establish and achieve defined goals. Requirements to PractiseIndividuals wishing to practise as a physiotherapist in Queensland must be registered with the Physiotherapists Board of Queensland. Applicants who are registered in another Australian State or Territory can apply for registration under the Mutual Recognition Act 1992. Applicants who are registered and hold a current Annual Practising Certificate in New Zealand can apply for registration under the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition Act 1997. If your qualifications were not obtained in Australia or New Zealand, you will be required to have your qualifications assessed for equivalency and undertake a written examination with the Australian Physiotherapy Council (APC) before applying for registration with the Physiotherapists Board of Queensland.
