Supporting you - Scholarships

The Rural Scholarship Scheme - provides financial assistance to support students during full-time tertiary study in pharmacy, physiotherapy, podiatry, psychology (clinical masters), occupational therapy, radiography, social work and speech pathology. Following graduation, scholarship holders are contracted to be employed by the Health Service Districts in rural health care facilities throughout the state, providing rural communities with essential health services.

Graduate Certificate in Health (Remote Health Practice - Allied Health) - aims to provide preparatory, ongoing and higher education for health professionals who work in remote areas and for appropriately qualified people who have an interest in this field and may contribute in the future to the remote area workforce.

The Graduate Certificate topics include indigenous health, primary health care and personal care when working in a remote environment.

Full scholarships to undertake qualification are available and include course and student fees, costs associated with attendance at the compulsory workshop, costs associated with the clinical placements and internet access.

Allied Health Research Scholarships - Queensland Health sponsors the Allied Health Research Scheme. This scheme aims to support projects that will increase the research capability of Allied Health services or employees in Queensland Health. Funding is allocated across non-metropolitan, novice and other categories.

The Study and Research Scheme (SARAS) - comprises financial support and/or leave assistance for part-time and full-time study or research. The scheme aims to promote organisational and personal development and to assist and encourage officers to undertake work related courses and research.
