One major issue discussed in the story of Bev and Steven – listening to your client – is that Australian South Sea Islanders are often assumed to be Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders. They are therefore constantly referred to services to which they are not eligible. Think about why this might be frustrating and hurtful to Australian South Sea Islanders.
