Smoking among Indigenous people
- Indigenous adults are almost twice as likely to smoke as non-Indigenous adults.
- More than half of urban Indigenous adults smoke. Indigenous people who smoke also start smoking at an earlier age, average of 15 years old.
- Smoking among Indigenous women during pregnancy is very common with rates up to 72% reported.
