Lifeline
Provides 24 hour telephone counselling services with the national accessible number of 13 11 14 for the cost of a local call. Lifeline also offers a range of other services such as suicide prevention and awareness programs, face-to-face counselling, and programs aimed at promoting wellbeing and encouraging help-seeking behaviours. The telephone counselling service is staffed by trained volunteers. The service is for people with mental health difficulties or friends, relatives, professionals, carers and others who look after people with mental health difficulties.

A national, independent, not-for-profit organisation working to address issues associated with depression, anxiety and related substance misuse disorders in Australia. One of its key goals is to raise community awareness about depression and reducing stigma associated with the illness.
DepressioNet
Provides comprehensive information, help to access professionals and treatments throughout Australia, and 24 hour peer support via an in message board and chat rooms. The depressioNet team are not medical professionals.
VicHealth
Works in partnership with organisations, communities and individuals to make health a central part of everyone's daily lives. A major focus of the work is promoting good mental health and preventing mental illness. Three key themes for action are based on social and economic factors that influence mental health and wellbeing: social inclusion, freedom from discrimination and violence, and access to economic resources.
Mentally Healthy Western Australia
Aims to improve the mental health in six demonstration sites in regional WA, by increasing individual's resiliency and community cohesion. A consortium of Healthway, WA Country Health Services, Lotterywest and the Centre for Behavioural Research in Cancer Control, Curtin University are implementing the community-based mental health promotion campaign in three coastal, two mining and three farming communities in WA.

They develop, collect and disseminate information on the promotion of mental health, the prevention of mental disorders, early intervention in mental illness and suicide prevention.
Volunteering North Queensland
Volunteering Queensland works to encourage, recognise, promote and advocate for voluntary participation to benefit the individual and community. They offer a state-wide referral service which links people, who wish to volunteer their time and effort to community organisations in their local area.
