Breastfeeding information and support, as with all health and related information, should be shared in a culturally appropriate way, using resources, language and information that best suit each individual circumstance.
Health care providers should be wary of stereotyped assumptions, which are not necessarily true of the cultural group and certainly are not true for each member.
Australia has a richly diverse multicultural population. Health professionals should source information and resources appropriate for specific population groups.
