Queensland Health's Cancer Control Program

Cancer remains one of the leading causes of death in Queensland. The Queensland Cancer Control Strategic Directions 2005-2010 provides a statewide framework for the use of resources to achieve improved health outcomes for all people with cancer.

In 2007, Queensland Health undertook statewide cancer treatment services planning. The resultant Queensland Statewide Cancer Treatmwent Services Plan 2008-17, demonstrates our commitment to meet the challenges faced by our health system.  The Ministerially endorsed plan identifies what we aim to achieve over the short, medium, and longer term.  It provides a platform to guide Government and non-Government service planning across the health service continuum.
