About us
The Mobile Women's Health Service is a network of 15 specially trained womens' health nurses who provide a free and confidential service to Queensland women. The service, established by Queensland Health, aims to improve the health and wellbeing of women in rural and remote areas of Queensland.
Mobile Women's Health nurses work as sole practitioners, working with both individuals and groups to provide a range of preventative health services for women, including clinical gynaecological services, education, information, counselling and support on a range of women’s health issues. In some areas an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women's health worker works with the nurse to assist in meeting the needs of local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women.
The service complements and works with the other health services, such as local general practitioners, the Royal Flying Doctor Service as well as other health service providers.

The service supports all women, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and women with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds.
Who can use the service?
The service is free and confidential, and is available to all women within the areas covered by each Mobile Women's Health Service.
Where can I access the service?
The Mobile Women's Health Service visits over 200 rural and remote communities in Queensland and services an area of 300 - 500km radius to provide clinics and other services on a regular basis.
