Welcome to the Centre for Healthcare Improvement
The role of the Centre for Healthcare Improvement is to lead improvement in the overall quality of healthcare in Queensland Health, targeting major leaps in quality of care through changes to processes, practices, policies, cultures, research, training and development. This involves improving all aspects of quality care and safety, access, patient experience, appropriateness of therapy, efficiency and effectiveness. This task also involves improving organisational culture, promoting innovation and research and maintaining and improving staff skills.
The goals of the Centre for Healthcare Improvement are:
- High quality outcomes for patients, safely delivered;
- Services which are easy to access; and
- Excellent patient experiences.
Clinician leadership in these improvements is a critical ingredient for success, and strong local ownership of the changes vital to sustain improvements.
