The AIS facilitates improved patient access to health services by:

• Working with clinicians in the development and implementation of the state-wide health access improvement agenda;
• Improving patient journeys by spreading innovative and proven service delivery models;
• Driving system accountability through monitoring, reporting and analysing performance;
• Applying system redesign to minimise duplication and reduce patient delays; and
• Ensuring appropriate technologies are in place to support better patient flows in Queensland public hospitals.
