Welcome to the Office of Health and Medical Research
The Office of Health and Medical Research (OHMR) sits within the Centre for Healthcare Improvement.
The OHMR was established in late 2008 as part of the Queensland Government's $25.65 million Research for a healthier future: 2020 Health and Medical Research and Development Strategy.
The OHMR overall responsibilities include:
- Administration of research funding including the Health Research Fellowship Program
- Promotion of Queensland Health researchers and coordination of research
- Research governance and ethics support including consultation, development and review of state-wide policy
Our goal is to improve the quality of healthcare by supporting the translation of research into practice.
