Children's Health Queensland (CHQ) operates in a complex and challenging environment involving a wide range of stakeholders and competing priorities as it seeks to deliver cost effective, high quality services in a timely manner within allocated resources and consistent with government policy, legislation and requirements.
CHQ is concurrently responsible for overseeing the Queensland Children's Hospital development project, implementation of the South East Queensland Paediatric Plan, integration of the Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) and Mater Children's Hospital (MCH), integration of metropolitan Community Child Health Services and the health service delivery operations of the RCH.
Good governance is fundamental to achieving these outcomes by setting up effective mechanisms, and moving beyond compliance to focus on the reliable achievement of our objectives.
