Queensland Children's Hospital underway

Planning and construction of a brand new hospital for the children of Queensland is underway in South Brisbane.

The $1.1 billion Queensland Children's Hospital is on track to open in 2014.

QCH will bring together specialist paediatric staff from the Royal Children's Hospital, the Mater Children's Hospital as well as the Queensland Paediatric Cardiac Service (QPCS) which transferred from The Prince Charles Hospital to Mater Children's Hospital on Tuesday 20 May 2008.

How to keep informed

This website contains the most up to date information for the public about progress in:

  • planning of merged clinical services and new models that will operate in the QCH
  • planning of the building through all stages of design, construction and eventually fit out and commissioning of the QCH in progressive stages
  • wide community consultation and the formal advisory groups established  for QCH
