The journey has commenced to plan and build an exciting new hospital for the children of Queensland.

Due to be opened in progressive stages from 2011 to 2014 at a cost of $1.044 billion, the Queensland Children's Hospital will provide facilities that are among the best in the world.  It will bring together specialist paediatric staff from the Mater Children's Hospital, The Royal Children's Hospital and paediatric cardiac experts from The Prince Charles Hospital.

Our new Queensland Children's Hospital will also become the centre for exemplary training and education in paediatrics, coordinate research activities in paediatrics in Queensland and be the centre of a state-wide paediatric network.
