Advisory Group-Community Consultation
Over the next five years it is vital that children, young people, families, carers and the community are involved in the planning and building of the new Queensland Children's Hospital.
The QCH Development Project will use an engagement strategy to guide consultations during the life of the project. The Advisory Group - Community Consultation, with representation from clinical and nursing staff, members of the Family Advisory Council and Youth Advisory Forum, support groups and other key planning sectors will provide momentum and direction to community engagement activities.
This group will manage a comprehensive five year program that seeks to:
- oversee the implementation of the consultation strategy Talking and Planning Together and to give strategic direction to consultation activities that are part of the plan
- feed information obtained through consultation and engagement directly to planning teams which expresses the views of parents, carers, children, young people and the wider community
- ensure all relevant individuals, special interest groups and non-government organisations have a voice at the consultation table
- support community consultation events and activities that give visibility to the planning that is underway to create a Queensland Children's Hospital
- help build community ownership and pride in the Queensland Children's Hospital based on sound relationships established with stakeholder groups
- ensure all consultation and engagement activities are inclusive, culturally sensitive and reflect the values of the Queensland Children's Hospital.
The Advisory Group - Community Consultation will be supported by a communication working group comprising:
- Manager Communications and Consultation, Queensland Children's Hospital Project
- Public Affairs Managers of the Royal Children's Hospital, The Mater Children's Hospital and The Prince Charles Hospital
- Communications Manager of Capital Works and Asset Management
- Engagement officers recruited for special project work.
