Our philosophy of care
Central to the philosophy of care for the future Queensland Children's Hospital is that the child and family are at the centre of decision making.
For the future Queensland Children's Hospital child and family-centred care means:
-
a collaborative partnership between families and providers that is based on mutual respect, trust, honesty, and open communication
-
families will be involved in all aspects of the planning, delivery, and evaluation of services
-
professionals will support, teach and partner with families through their experience.
|
Family-centred care is neither a destination nor something that one instantly "becomes".
It is a continual pursuit of being responsive to the priorities and choices of families.*

Everybody at the future Queensland Children's Hospital, regardless of their role in the organisation, will share a commitment to organisational values and the philosophy of care, providing friendly high quality services that make families remember QCH for the right reasons.
