Planning
We have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create an outstanding children's hospital from start to finish, and we are well on the journey.
For the past two years we have spent an extensive amount of time designing and planning the new QCH. More than 30 planning teams, including staff from the Royal Children's and Mater Children's hospitals, architects, builders and current and former patients and their families, have been extensively involved in this process to ensure the building best meets their needs.
We are also planning for the transition of the Royal Children's and Mater Children's hospitals into one facility at the QCH. To help facilitate the change process, new clinical leaders in the areas of medicine, nursing and allied health have been appointed.
Design and transition planning for the QCH will continue throughout 2010.
