Transitioning to the QCH

In December 2009, three Queensland clincians were appointed to help lead and manage the integration of the Royal Children's and Mater Children's hospitals operations in preparation for the opening of the QCH in 2014. They will play a key role in driving the clinical vision of the emerging Children's Health Services while leading and managing the required change processes.

The three clinical leaders are:

Dr David McCrossin, Medical Clinical Leader
Paediatrician Dr David McCrossin was previously director of General Paediatrics and deputy director of Paediatric Health Services at the Mater Children's Hospital. He was a visiting medical officer (neonatology) at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital for many years, and has also worked as a private paediatrician and clinical lecturer.

Sue McKee, A/Nursing Clinical Leader
Sue was appointed acting nursing clinical leader in March 2011. Sue has extensive executive experience, nursing leadership and service management expertise in both the public and private sectors. Prior to her appointment to Children's Health Services, Sue was the nursing director of paediatric services at the Mater Children's Hospital.

Denisse Best, Allied Health Clinical Leader
Denisse is a highly respected social worker and has worked in senior management roles in the area of child and youth mental health for many years. She was previously executive director of Child and Youth Mental Health Services which, until the creation of Children's Health Services, operated under the auspices of the Royal Children's Hospital.
