About the VIP Award
The Centre for Healthcare Related Infection Surveillance and Prevention (CHRISP) and the Infection Monitoring and Prevention Service at Caboolture Hospital are initiating the establishment of a reward for healthcare workers who demonstrate exemplary infection prevention practices and lead others to do the same.
Goals of the Award Program
- To recognize good infection prevention practices amongst healthcare workers.
- To reinforce the importance of good infection prevention practices.
- To encourage healthcare workers to consider themselves as role models to peers and others on their team.
- To enrich the hospital infection prevention program and further establish standards of excellence in the clinical setting.
- To decrease the risk of healthcare associated infections by increasing the compliance of infection prevention behaviours amongst healthcare workers.
Who is eligible?
The Voice for Infection Prevention (VIP) Award will be given to one healthcare worker from each of the following categories:
- Doctors
- Nurses (RN, EN, AIN)
- HP, professional, technical
- Managerial/clerical
- Operational
What do the winners receive?
Recognition and acknowledgement are the principal forms of reward of the program and will be presented on two different levels, all those nominated and those that are selected as VIP's.
All those nominated will receive:
- VIP badge
- Award certificate
VIP's will receive:
- VIP badge
- VIP pen
- An award certificate acknowledging their award
- A letter jointly from Caboolture-Kilcoy Hospital Infection Monitoring and Prevention Service and CHRISP
- Recognition in facility newsletter or publication
