Step 4 - Developing your Infection Control Management Plan
Your Infection Control Management Plan needs to clearly state:
- The infection risks associated with the provision of your health care service
- The measures you will take to prevent or minimise those infection risks
- How you will monitor and review the implementation and effectiveness of the risk prevention or mitigation strategies
- Details of how you will provide training to your staff in relation to the provision of health services and the ICMP
- How often each element of the ICMP is to be reviewed
The Infection Control Management Plan template has been developed to assist you in developing an ICMP for your health care facility. The template specifies the minimum standard and should be expanded as appropriate to the scope and complexity of services offered by your facility.
