Allied Health Indigenous Cadetship Program

About the Allied Health Indigenous Cadetship Program

Allied Health cadetships are available through the Indigenous Cadetship Support Program. This program is an Australian Government initiative to improve the professional employment prospects of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders. The program is supported by Queensland Health in partnership with the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations.

The Indigenous Cadetship Support Program (ICS) aims to improve the professional employment prospects of Indigenous Australians by linking Indigenous students with employers in a cadetship arrangement involving full time study and work placements. More information about the program can be found here.

Queensland Health allied health cadetships are available for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students undergoing a diploma, advanced diploma or their first undergraduate studies in an allied health discipline.

Queensland Health have one intake of allied health cadets each year. More information and Expressions of Interest for participation in the 2011/2012 programs can be forwarded to the Statewide Allied Health Cadetship Coordinator at AlliedHealthCadetships@health.qld.gov.au.
