Interstate Agreements
The Queensland Health Office of the Chief Psychiatrist has been working closely with our interstate colleagues to draft Memorandum of Agreement on Interstate Application of Mental Health Laws. These are available on the Mental Health Act 2016 page under Patient transport and movement.
Key mental health documents
The following key documents are recommended by the Chief Psychiatrist to support best practice in Queensland mental health services.
Under the transitional provisions of the Mental Health Act 2016, all documents referencing the Mental Health Act 2000 remain in place until such time as the document has been reviewed.

Clinical frameworks
Consumer, Carer and Family Participation Framework
The Consumer, Carer and Family Participation Framework provides a guide to adopting a consumer-driven, recovery-oriented, and carer and family inclusive mental health service model. The framework provides direction to mental health services across the state regarding enhancing consumer and carer participation at a local level.
