Closure of CliPSS cases
Any matters referred to CliPSS will be considered closed if any of the following occur:
-
consent is withdrawn
-
the performance assessment is ceased as a result of a prima facie blameworthy matter relating to the clinician's professional practice
-
the clinician suffers from impairment (that is, a medical condition that affects, or is likely to affect, his/her capacity to practice medicine safely)
-
the clinician fails to complete the CliPSS Performance Support Plan (PSP)
-
the clinician completes a CliPSS PSP
Following an incomplete Performance Assessment, CliPSS will provide a Summary Report with the following information to the district and the Medical Board of Queensland:
-
which elements of the assessment were completed
-
which elements of assessment were not completed
-
identified strengths based on what was completed
-
identified areas for support based on what was completed
-
reasons that the assessment was ceased
-
CliPSS recommendations regarding changes to scope of practice (where appropriate).
Where performance concerns remain, cases closed by CliPSS are referred back to the District to manage through PAD, HR processes, Scope of Practice Committees, and/or through regulatory authorities such as the Medical Board.
