CliPPS Performance Support Plan

If there are areas of practice with existing concerns that require remediation, CliPSS will develop a personalised Performance Support Plan (PSP).  CliPSS will undertake to ensure that the workplace provides an assurance of support to the clinician and that the clinician fulfils the activities he/she has agreed to complete.

The PSP will be detailed, goal oriented and designed in consultation and collaboration with the clinician and the referring party.  Merely completing tasks will not be sufficient – in order to fulfil the requirements of the PSP, there must be a demonstrable change in the clinician’s performance as compared with the initial performance assessment.

Reassessment by CliPSS Performance Assessment Panel

Following the implementation of the CliPSS personalised professional Performance Support Plan, the clinician will need to undertake periodic assessment reviews.  In most cases, there will be several reassessments carried out by the Performance Assessment Panel. These reviews will be conducted at reasonable intervals and with reference to the PSP.

The reassessment findings will be used to monitor and fine tune the Performance Support Plan. When the reassessment confirms that the objectives of the PSP have been achieved, the CliPSS process is completed and finalised and the clinician formally notified of this.

The intention is for these reviews to be conducted by the same Performance Assessment Panel that developed the PSP, although it is recognised that this may not always be possible.

In the event that performance issues persist and remain after the reassessments, the District may decide to follow the investigative pathway or utilise other formal HR processes for managing the outstanding and persistent performance concerns of the clinician.
