The Queensland Government is committed to building a better mental health system for all Queenslanders.
In 2006-07 the Queensland Government increased its funding for mental health services by $366.2 million as a result of Queensland's commitment to the Council of Australian Governments'(COAG) COAG National Action Plan on Mental Health 2006-2011 (PDF, 566 KB).
In the 2007-08 State Budget Outcomes for Mental Health, the Queensland government committed further record funding of $528.8million over four years. The following table provides a brief overview of the commitment by the Queensland government to each of the priority areas in the National Action Plan on Mental Health 2006-2011.
This means that our governments total investment in mental health under the (COAG) National Action Plan on Mental Health 2006-2011 will have increased by a massive $895 million in just over five years to 2010-2011.
