CPCRE - Education - Nursing
Target group:
CPCRE's nursing education offerings are aimed at all levels of nursing - with some opportunities targeted at nurses with simply an interest in palliative care, to advanced training with our specialist palliative care modules.
Objectives/Aims:
To provide a broad understanding of the principles and underlying philosophy of palliative care.
Details:
CPCRE will be providing regular clinical skills updates, facilitating the specialist training modules, and there are limited places available for placements with PEPA - Program of Experience in the Palliative Approach. Stay tuned for information regarding training in the Aged Care sector.
Competency Standards for Nursing Practice
This framework provides a set of competency standards for specialist palliative care nursing practice
Specialist Palliative Care Module for Registered Nurses
This module, delivered online with support from CPCRE staff, is designed to bring RNs to a beginning level of expertise in palliative care.

Note: The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia requires for registration that all nurses complete 20 hours per year of continuing professional development. Nurses will need to keep a record of CPD activities completed. See the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Continuing Professional Development Registration Standard for further information.
