Frequently Asked Questions - CPCRE Online Education

Q: What fees are there for the CPCRE Online Education Module?
A: CPCRE charges no fee for this module. Your only costs will be those related to accessing journal articles or other literature online. CPCRE is not able to supply journal articles.

Q: I work in Aged Care so often care for people at end of life. Am I still eligible to apply for the Online Education Module?
A: Yes, even if you have extensive Aged Care experience, you are still eligible for this module.

Q: I have been working for longer than 6 months as an RN; am I able to apply for the Online Education Module?
A: Yes. CPCRE encourages any RN who is not working in a Specialist Palliative Care Service, or has been with such a service for less than 6 months, to apply.

Q: Are there any requirements for face-to-face contact?
A: No. All course requirements will be completed online. There will be no need for face-to-face contact such as a study block.

Q: I don't have access to a computer at home; can I still do this course?
A: CPCRE recommends that you have access to a computer at home to be able to complete the module successfully.

Q: I've heard that there will only be a few people accepted in the first course. What happens if if I don't get in when I apply?
A: The first course intake will be quite small, with no more than six people, so that any problems can be identified and sorted. We hope to run another course early in 2010; when taking applications for that course we will contact previously unsuccessful applicants to see if they wish to be considered.
