CPIC Vision: Lead clinical practice quality improvement in Queensland
CPIC Mission: To support clinicians to improve patient care through innovation and translation of evidence into clinical practice and to measure the impact.
The Clinical Practice Improvement Centre aims to:
- identify and understand the causes of differences in clinical practice
- use known improvement techniques to reduce these differences by implementing evidence-based best practice
- engage clinicians from all disciplines in learning skills required for multidisciplinary improvement processes
- support realistic solutions to gaps in care provision
- measure progress made towards specific targets in these activities
- develop systems to ensure that such progress is sustainable
- monitor and report on clinical performance with a view to improving quality and safety of patient care
- engage with consumers to improve their healthcare experience
- contribute to the science of quality improvement methodology
- build upon, integrate and expand the activities of the many individuals and groups that are already working towards improving the quality and efficiency of healthcare in Queensland.
