Emerald Hospital: Emerald has a 36 bed Hospital that provides community and hospital
services for the Emerald area and is the major referral centre for the Central Highlands.
Emerald offers a range medical and surgical services including emergency, gastroenterology,
pathology, paediatric, palliative care, radiography, operating theatre - gynaecology & general surgery. Additional services include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, social work & dietetics.
The other facilities and hospitals within the Central Highlands area include Blackwater, Springsure, Moura, Theodore, Taroom and Woorabinda.

With Blackwater and Emerald being the two major centres of the area, there are a range of shops and facilities that you would expect in any regional Queensland town.
