Health Careers in the Bush (HCB) is a state-wide program that aims to increase the number of rural and remote, Indigenous and non-Indigenous students in Queensland choosing a career pathway in the health industry.

The HCB program provides students from all over Queensland with the opportunity to learn more about a health career through participating in workshops, expos and school visits from health professional students. The very resourceful Health Careers in the Bush website includes profiles of more than twenty various jobs in the health industry, the scholarships available and where to find out more information about particular courses and tertiary institutions.

The Cunningham Centre conducts two annual workshops, the ‘Health Careers Workshop’ for students in Years 8 to 10 and the ‘Health Career Pathways Workshop’ for Year 11 and 12 students.

For further information, including forthcoming workshop dates and the results of recent research into the success of the HCB program, visit the HCB website or contact a Workshop Coordinator at the Cunningham Centre.
