The Primary Health Care team is responsible for improving the capacity of the health workforce, including Aboriginal Health Workers and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers, to deliver quality Primary Health Care services to communities throughout Queensland. The team also conducts training and community engagement workshops in regard to alternative models of health service delivery.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Awareness
Cross discipline Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Awareness workshops are delivered throughout the districts. These programs are strategic in developing the cultural knowledge required to appropriately respond to the health needs of Indigenous clients.
