The Cunningham Centre’s Accredited and Organisational Training team have responsibility for a range of vocational programs that help to develop the competence of Queensland Health staff, including:


Nationally Recognised Training

The following Nationally Recognised Training qualifications are on the Cunningham Centre's scope of registration and are delivered in partnership with other Queensland Health business units:

These courses are delivered to Queensland Health staff only and are not available for public access. Please see the individual factsheets for further information.


Administrative Professional Program

The Administrative Professional Program (APP) is offered in response to the Queensland Public Health Sector Certified Agreement (No. 8) 2011 (EB8).Training is provided at no cost to eligible Queensland Health employees and in accordance with the National Public Service Training Package qualifications.

The Administrative Professional Program, targeted at AO2 - AO4 employees, is delivered in partnership with Brisbane North Institute of TAFE (BNIT). Please see the Administrative Professional Program flyer for more information. Qualifications currently available are:

Operational Officers Program

The Operational Officers Program (OOP) is offered in response to the Queensland Public Health Sector Certified Agreement 2011 (EB8). This program is targeted at OO2 staff. Training is provided at no cost to eligible Queensland Health employees.

This program offers nationally recognised qualifications from the Health Training Package (HLT) – Certificate II in Health Support Services, with competencies specifically relevant to the specialist areas of cleaning, client/patient food, laundry and grounds maintenance.

Upon successful completion of a qualification, staff may also be eligible to progress to the OO2(5) increment. Please refer to HR Policy G13 'Targeted Training for Operational Officers' for details.

Workplace assessor registration for the Operational Officers Program

Queensland Health employees may be eligible to register as a workplace assessor for the Operational Officers Program. Workplace assessors are required to assess employees currently studying towards the Certificate II in Health Support Services.

Eligible employees must hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110) or, as a minimum, the following units:

It is preferable for assessor to hold the full qualification. Assessors must also hold the units from the Certificate II in Health Support Services which they will be assessing.

To confirm eligibility or to register as an assessor, please contact the Program Coordinator as listed below.

If your training and assessment qualifications are more than 12 months old and you have not conducted any assessments within that time, you will need to conduct the Accredited and Organisational Team to update your profile.
