There are eleven major nursing home projects being undertaken as part of the $120 million Aged Care Capital Works Program. These are located at: Dalby, Maryborough, Nambour, Redcliffe, Redland, Roma, Sandgate, Townsville, Warwick, and Wondai.
The Dalby nursing home redevelopment involves construction of an 80 bed Modular Design facility, plus associated car parking, road and site works. The new facility will be constructed on the campus of the Dalby Hospital.

Maryborough Nursing Home Project
The Maryborough nursing home redevelopment involves construction of three 32-bed Modular Design facilities, plus an administration wing, and associated site works. The project will incorporate a 16-bed dementia special care unit. The new facilities will be constructed on the campus of the Maryborough Hospital.

The Nambour nursing home redevelopment involves refurbishment and extensions to the existing facility, to reflect the provisions of the Modular Design concept - including single bedrooms and shared ensuites. It is scheduled to commence in mid-2004.

Redcliffe Nursing Home Project
The Redcliffe nursing home redevelopment involves construction of a 60-bed Modular Design facility, plus associated road and site works. The project will incorporate a 20-bed psycho-geriatric and dementia unit. The new facilities will be constructed on the campus of the Redcliffe Caboolture Community Health Centre.

The Moreton Bay Nursing Care Unit redevelopment at Redland involves construction of four 32-bed Modular Design facilities, plus a central administration wing, and associated road and site works. The new facilities will be constructed on the campus of the Redland Hospital.

Townsville Nursing Home Project
The Townsville nursing home redevelopment involves construction of a 70-bed Modular Design facility, plus associated road and site works. The project will incorporate a 10-bed psycho-geriatric unit. The new facility will be constructed on the campus of the former Kirwan Women's Hospital.

The Wondai nursing home redevelopment comprises refurbishment and extensions to the existing Wondai Hospital building, to reflect the provisions of the Modular Design concept - including single bedrooms and shared ensuites. Design process commenced in March 2004.
