Haemosiderosis: focal or general increase in tissue iron stores without associated tissue damage.
HbA1c: Glycosolated haemoglobin is a blood test to determine level of glycaemic control.
HDL cholesterol: Commonly referred to as the "good" cholesterol as it reduces fatty deposits (atheroma) in arteries.
Hydration: the absorption of or combination with water.
Hyperglycaemia: High blood glucose levels exceeding normal limits of 8 mmol/l.
Hyperkeratosis: thickened skin or toe nail.
Hyperlipidemia: elevated blood lipids (fats).
Hypertension: elevated blood pressure.
Hypertrophy: Enlargement of organ or tissue due to enlargement in cell size.
Hypoglycaemia: diminished levels of glucose in the blood.
Hypoglycaemic incidents: episodes of low blood glucose levels of which symptoms are experienced.
Hypoglycaemic symptoms: vary among individuals but common symptoms include: shaking, cold or clammy sweat, dizziness, headache, slurred speech, tingling in lips or fingertips, confusion etc.
