Mount Isa Hospital (Mount Isa Health Service District) 

The Mount Isa Hospital offers patients a wide range of primary, secondary and community health services including; emergency medicine, anaesthetics, medicine, paediatrics, psychiatry and surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, dentistry, dietetics, medical imaging, occupational therapy, pathology, pharmacy, physiotherapy, podiatry, speech pathology, social work.

Mount Isa Hospital is the major referral centre in North West Queensland.  The hospital has 80 beds.  The Mount Isa Health Service District covers an area of 300,000 square rural and remote kilometres with a population of approximately 34,000 with the indigenous population making up 22% of the population.

The Queensland Government has planned a $65.19 million redevelopment for Mount Isa Hospital to include:
  • emergency department
  • outpatients department
  • mental health services
  • oral health services
  • ward refurbishment
