Queensland Health can offer relocation packages for interstate and international candidates that are thinking of making the move to Queensland.

Relocation packages are offered at the discretion of each of the Health Service District and negotiations should be undertaken directly with the employing Queensland Health facility or Health Service District at time of job offer.

HR Policy D4 – Transfer and Appointment Expenses outlines the entitlements for transfer and appointment expenses for the Queensland Health Senior Medical Officers.

There is provision for the transfer and appointment of Resident Medical Officers within Queensland Health.  The Appointment Expenses – Resident Medical Officers (Including Board And Lodging) Policy (IRM 2.7-32) outlines the entitlements for transfer and appointment expenses for the Queensland Health Resident Medical Officers.

Queensland Health facilities and Health Service Districts may offer relocation packages with supplementary features which may include:

• cost of economy airfares for the employee and their dependants
• cost of removal of household goods
• cost of short-term temporary accommodation
• visa application and administration related costs
• initial registration costs
• airport transfers

These packages are offered at the discretion of each Health Service District CEO and are negotiated on a case by case basis.

It is recommended that any negotiation of relocation packages occur at the time of offer of employment.
