Anaesthetics solution

The Automated Anaesthetic Record Keeping (AARK) solution has replaced manual paper-based record keeping processes. It is a standardised anaesthetic record of patient care available at 43 Queensland Health sites.

The solution is helping to improve admission and theatre procedures, due to better and more accessible patient records. Clinicians at hospitals with the AARK solution now spend less time on recording observations and more time with patients in operating theatres.

What does AARK mean for patients?

  • Clinicians have more time spent on patient care.
  • Clinicians spend less time sourcing and reporting patient information.
  • Better care, as clinicians are more informed.

What does AARK mean for clinicians?

  • Patient information is available prior to a procedure, thereby reducing cancellations.
  • Clearer, more legible patient records.

“The introduction of AARK has already significantly improved data entry times for clinicians - from an average of 30 minutes down to eight minutes for long surgical cases. This means clinicians have more time to spend with their patients.”
Dr John Archdeacon, Clinical Consultant
