Endoscopy solution
The Endoscopy Services Information System Solution (ESISS) records the clinical information of patients during an endoscopy service in a Queensland Halth hospital or facility.
It is improving endoscopy procedures, reporting and care by providing better patient records and more reliable information.
What does this mean for patients?
- Patients do not have to carry documentation when visiting any Queensland Health hospital or facility for endoscopy care.
- Patient treatment and monitoring is enhanced by regular reminders for follow-up care.
- Patients receive a plain language report, explaining the nature of their procedure and follow-up requirements.
What does this mean for clinicians?
- Consistent high quality patient reports, with embedded clinical images which will significantly benefit referring general practitioners.
- Statewide access to endoscopy reports which will enable clinicians to more effectively and efficiently manage patient care.
- Quality assurance reports to ensure high quality clinical practice and support accreditation processes.
- Accurate measurement of endoscopy services facilitating for reporting to the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program (NBCSP) Register.
“The implementation of ESISS at Ayr Hospital saves me the 1½ hours per session I usually spend on paperwork.”
Dr Gillian Mahy, Director of Medicine, Townsville Health Services
