Waste management

Managing waste in any community is an important part of providing a safe and healthy living environment for the people.

State government laws require local governments to manage waste in their local areas and to prevent it causing health or environmental problems.

This section will help EHWs to:

understand the types of waste that cause local environmental health problems
work out the best ways of fixing those problems
find ways of working with their councils and communities to stop waste becoming a problem in the future.
