Emergency Health Services
This team provides the principal liaison point for the State's emergency services and for co-ordination of the Department's advice on emergency health matters.
Key roles include:
- Coordination and implementation of emergency planning including retrievals, aero medical services and multi-casualty incidents;
- Identification and provision/facilitation of training and education in emergency health service delivery;
- Responsibility for a comprehensive Queensland Health State Counter Disaster Plan and assistance with the development of District, Hospital and local plans;
- Liaison and coordination with Federal, State, local and non-government organisations regarding emergency health services, and
- Responsibility for providing support to the Queensland Emergency Medical Systems Advisory Committee (QEMSAC) which is an inter-departmental committee between Queensland Health, Queensland Emergency Services and Queensland Ambulance Service.
