This is a colourful site that includes food safety information for consumers and young people.
Communicable Diseases Australia
This site provides information on a wide range of diseases. It is suitable for teachers and senior students.
Food Safety Information Council
This site includes information and quizzes aimed at young people and consumers. The Food Safety Information Council is a not-for-profit organisation that promotes food safety to consumers. Its members come from government, industry and consumer groups.
Food Safety Victoria
This Victorian Department of Human Services website includes topics on food safety, keeping food safe and food poisoning. The website is written for adult consumers.
Food Science Australia
This site is a joint web service from CSIRO and the Australian Food Industry Science Centre. It provides an extensive snapshot of food safety issues through fact sheets and consumer leaflets. The internet resources are extensive but may not appeal to students.
Food Standards Australia New Zealand
This site takes the user to pages including 'Food safety' and 'For the consumer' among other topics. This is an extensive site suited to adults and industry. It includes Australian legislative standards for food safety, food composition and labelling.

This commercial site has some interesting presentations about products and processes related to food safety. It is aimed at the catering industry.

New Zealand Food Safety Authority
This site provides both consumer and industry information.
New Zealand Foodsafe Partnership
This food safety site is aimed at consumers and educators. The educators section includes teaching ideas and student resources such quizzes, an information sheet and a colouring activity.
