The media professionals section of the Queensland forensic mental health website has been developed to implement recommendation 7.8 in Brendan Butler's report Promoting balance in the forensic mental health system - Final Report - Review of the Queensland Mental Health Act 2000. This recommendation relates to media coverage of incidents involving people with mental illness who commit offences.
Funded by the Mental Health Branch in Queensland Health, this resource has been created as a companion resource to the Mindframe resource for media professionals (funded as part of the Australian Government's National Mindframe Media Initiative).
