The Yaralla Place residential aged care facility was first established in 1963. The original facility was subsequently redeveloped to meet the Standards in Aged Care and the new facility was completed in October 2006. Yaralla Place caters for 96 high care residents, and offers single room accommodation with an adjoining ensuite. There is limited share accommodation available for couples. The complex is divided into 3 unit wings of 32 beds each; the unit wings are named Grevillea, Banksia and Acacia. The name, Yaralla Place, means “high place” and this name was chosen collaboratively by the Residents and Relatives Committee in 2001 as part of the continued involvement of residents in the decision making process.
Yaralla Place is committed to quality care, education and provides the opportunity for staff to excel in the provision of care of aged residents. The care and comfort of our residents is paramount in the delivery of our services, and these are some of the special attributes:
Clinical Care
There is a Nursing Director, two Nurse Unit Managers and a Nurse Educator for the facility. Allied health professionals visit the facility and each resident has their own choice of General Practitioner.
Operational Services
Food Services staff from Maryborough Hospital supply home-cooked meals for residents. Operational Services staff attend to cleaning residents’ rooms and general common areas. Portage and security staff are on the premises 24/7.
