Department of Communities
This site contains general health and community information for the public. It provides access to various tips sheets and resources as well as information pertaining to crisis care, child safety, children’s help lines and child care. In addition, the Child Care Services Search facilities enable people to search for and locate child care or early education services in Queensland.
Food Safety Matters
Food Safety Matters is a teaching and training resource on how to handle food safely in a home environment. While it is designed for secondary schools, it proven to be useful with primary schools, the child care industry and other groups. The website explains in simple terms how to keep food safe, includes teaching resources and useful links to other food safety websites.
Lady Gowrie
The Lady Gowrie Child Centre was established by the Commonwealth Government as a demonstration centre for children's programs in 1940. Since then the centre has expanded to several locations offering programs that include under 3's, kindergarten and preschool, long day care, occasional care and family day care. In addition, The Gowrie (Qld) Inc offers training and support to staff through accredited external child care courses and inservice and QA support through workshops and a range of specifically developed resources. National Childcare Accreditation Council
The NCAC is responsible for the implementation and administration of the Quality Assurance (QA) systems for family day care schemes, outside school hours care services and long day care centres across Australia. This site contains various types of information to assist both childcare providers and families.
