The Family, Women's and Children's Division provides Obstetric, Gynaecology, Neonatology and Paediatric services at the Gold Coast Hospital. Elective gynaecology surgery is provided at Robina Hospital. A Community Child Health clinic is also based at Robina Hospital. Community based services include Child Health, School Health and Breast Screening.
Obstetrics
Gold Coast Hospital services up to 3500 births annually. Since July 2005 delivery rates have increased suddenly and with the advent of a new birth centre deliveries are expected to steadily increase, well above expected population increases.
Antenatal, intrapartum and postpartum care includes:

Gynaecology
Gynaecology surgical services are conducted at both Gold Coast and Robina Hospitals. Elective and emergency caesarean sections are undertaken at Gold Coast Hospital. A new operative cancer gynaecological service is envisaged in the future.

Over 25 operating lists per month are conducted at Gold Coast Hospital in general gynaecology/urogynaecology surgery. Training and non-training registrars assist.

Level 2 gynaecology surgery is undertaken at Robina Hospital.

Early Pregnancy Assessment Clinic (EPAC) based in the Gold Coast Hospital Emergency Department - identifies women who present with difficulties in early pregnancy to ensure they are provided with timely access to interventions.

Breastscreening Queensland provides a service to detect unsuspected breast cancer, at the earliest possible stage, using free and high quality screening mammography for women living in the Gold Coast and hinterland areas.
