The Gold Coast Hospital pharmacy department operates three dispensaries. There is one at each hospital campus and a methadone/buprenorphine dosing centre at another facility. The department employs 35 staff including 18 pharmacists and 10 dispensary assistants. It is structured around prioritising admission history taking, developing medication plans and communicating with primary carers at discharge.
Gold Coast Hospital is host to the Queensland Health Pathology Service which is the principal provider of public sector pathology services in Queensland, supplying clinical diagnostic services to the hospital and other facilities throughout the state.
The Queensland Health Pathology Service has close links with Queensland 's leading universities, including Griffith University and Bond University on the Gold Coast as well as the University of Queensland and the Queensland University of Technology.

The department provides general radiography 24/7, minor procedures, mammograpy, Digital angiography and digital screening procedures, teaching, advice and consultation, clinical photography and hosts an X-ray museum.
