Visiting hours

Visiting hours are generally between 10am and 8pm.

Set visiting hours allow for rest and adequate treatment of patients. The hours may vary between wards and units so please confirm with the hospital switchboard prior to your arrival.

We encourage visitors to be sensitive to the needs of the patient they are visiting and other patients and staff in the ward or unit. For infection control reasons it is very important that all visitors wash their hands before entering the ward or unit and then again when leaving the hospital.Visitors who have colds or other infections should not visit until they are well.

Special Care Nursery

Visitors to the special care nursery are restricted to parents and siblings to reduce infection risk. The special care nursery does not accept visitors between 2pm and 4 pm each day to allow the babies to sleep.

Paediatrics

Family may visit patients in the paediatrics ward any time. Friends and other visitors are welcome during general hospital visiting hours.

Maternity

Maternity ward visiting hours for fathers and siblings are between 8.30am - 2pm and 4pm - 8.30pm. General visiting hours for maternity are between 4pm and 8pm.
