Food Safety - Information for the General Public

Food deteriorates quickly in the hotter months in north Queeensland. Food poisoning bacteria also flourish during this time. Even though food may look, smell and taste normal, it may make you sick if it has not been stored correctly or prepared hygienically.

Take care with defrosting and with transporting foods. Invest in an esky, ice bricks and silver-lined cooler bags to help keep food cold when your out.
